Hi
As far as I know it was just off the High Road. It was there in 1914 when my Grandfather went off to war.
The site was owned by a woman and there was a court case but no details I'm afraid.
Hi, along with many other people this new year, i would like to lose weight and improve my fitness. As I can't afford gym membership I'd like to use the local parks in Edmonton (ideally Pymmes Park) to walk in.
However, for safety and motivation I'd like to partner up with one or two other women who would like to go for a 30-45min walk 2-3 times a week (during the evening on weekdays and during the day on weekends). I'm building up my fitness and recovering from an injury so it'll be gentle to moderate walking (not running!).
Contact me if you're interested:
My family, the JOHNSON'S, lived at 153 Bulwer Road, was there all through the Blitz, my sister was born in the Anderson shelter during the bonbing, and was Christened Margaret "Anderson" Johnson. My mum died during this period and us five children were put into care, and seem to have lost touch with each other.Do you remember Frindles the bike shop, the smell of rubber and oil brings back memories.

I visit Edmonton Centre and also have lots of visits with my family to Southbury Leisure Centre in Enfield. I have heard that the management company Enfield Leisure Centres Ltd are in trouble and are being replaced. Will this mean a delay in the opening of the new facility at Edmonton and worse the rumours that Southbury, Albany and perhaps Southgate all have problems.
pls who can tell me the opening and closing time for lidl in edmonton angel?

Pymmes Park is a council park so any enquiries would be dealt with by the Parks dept at Civic Centre Enfield. Middlesex. The park itself is situated on Silver Street Edmonton N.18 North London,

Like someone said before - the Huxley estate is a real safe area to live in - we have been here since march and people are real friendly here. I used to live off bunting cloe which is also a nice area - safe atleast. Edmonton I think is great for the great transport links into london- you can be in central london in atleast 35 mins. House prices are cheaper compared to areas that are alot dodgier to live in. I have lived here all my life and I am looking forward to the face lift of Edmonton Green as it has so much prospect and it needs a real rejuvination.
hi im looking for someone who i met on holiday called luke logey who i no lives in edmonton. hes really skinny n has a fried called sonny and christie if anyone could help because i really want to see him again thanks

There is a tesco in Edmonton Green in the SHopping Centre.
don't flirt at Lidl...they don't even have trolleys or plastic bags!
Nearest Sainsbury's would be in Tottenham and nearest Tesco is Lea Valley accessible from the A406 (get the 102/34/444 bus towards Chingford)
However, this is more a "sweaty weights gym" and quite geared towards steroid bound men from my last recollection of it. There is a Fitness First in nearby Tottenham though.
Edmonton Leisure Centre in Lower Edmonton which has a good pool and seperate diving pool and is opposite Edmonton Green train station. It's a municiple gym with good equipment which was refurbished a couple of years ago. Cheap membership scheme. Picketts Lock is also nearby, and the W8 bus goes straight there. This is a slightly more expensive, and the pool is a strange shape not really suitable for serious swimmers. Has good fitness classes and an excellent gym though.
Prety much all trains, buses and tubes are packed these days and I suppose it will get worse after the congestion charge comes in on 17th Feb, but when I used to travel on the overground from Silver Street you could quite easily get on the train but you'd have to stand at least until Seven Sisters where everyone gets off to connect with the Victoria line. Don't know if it's still the same as I get the bus now.
I especially like the fact that since last year you only need a three zone travelcard as you can get to Zone 4 using the regular 231/217 services from Turnpike Lane station. The rent in zone 4 is usually much less than zone 3 so you save quite a bit this way. I also think that it's nice to get out of the real hustle and bustle of Inner London and although I'd prefer to live nearer to a tube station, the benefit of reduced rent far outweighs this minor disappointment.
Just near Silver Street Station, but near the park so it's especially nice in the summer. Well decorated and friendly.
