just found this site and saw the name MULLIGAN of brettenham road. I used to live at number 50. Do you have a younger brother.
I lived right next to the Open Air School on Hazelbury Road about 1 block from Chalfont Road. Which end of Chalfont did you live that is a long road?
I expect you've had replies already, but yes, The hedly Ward Trio were performing there that night. Cliff Richard and Bruce Forsythe were in the audience. HWT were superb and when Jerry Lee came on the audience wanted them back.
A couple of days before the concert the news about JLL marrying his 14 year old cousin hit the headlines and the audience gave him a very hard time.

Hi Brian,
Glad you remembered the good old days. We had so much fun then. Edmonton is not the same any more. It has been some time since i have been on this site. Micky Walters sounds familiar to me also. I have lost contact with everyone I grew up with in England, but that's life. Let me know what is happening over there. Did you ever know a Michael Richer. He was in a judo club and evidently pretty good.
Keep in touch. Tanks
Jennifer (Trueman) Ebeck
OMG Brian. It has been couple years since I was on this site. I believe I knew Micky Walters. Wasn't he a judo champ of some thing. Would love to connect with him also, if possible. Would love to put my e-mail address on here, but am a little scared about that. Maybe I should open up another one just just for this.
Hope you reply. Take Care
Jennifer

Dick was the leading hand in the Boltmaster shop this was between 1965 and 1970. As an apprentice this was one of the shops we went in. He was a very colourful character.
I would be interested if this was him.
Remember it all , great days.
Oh yes the Regal for dancing what great days they were, the stage would turn and another band would play. The Creep was the dance, teddy boys and girls were the fashion. Such good memories.
My Grandmother lived on Brettenham Road there was a little off licence on the corner and she would take her jug and get it filled with beer.
Anyone here who lived on Chalfont Rd?
I went to Eldon Road school. Headmaster Mr Harvey, Mr & Mrs Kemp, a teacher who married a Pakistani and had two ceremonies. She gave all her pupils copies of the photos. My friends, Rowena Jacobs, Martin(I was in love with ) Duncan with a runny nose, Sandra, blonde and freckled, Denise who shared a room and bed with me in Belgium on the school holiday....More than one Susan and Christine, a ball room dancer who went to Latymer. Ena Thatcher....A boy who disappeared and did not come back to school, a boy who was impaled on a fence but survived, Janet who went to the grammar with me. Parry, a fellow welsh person but rude as all boys were at the time to a foreign looking person with a welsh accent.
Seeing Billie Davis and the Stones in an early concert, lying to my parents about where I went that night.......
Does anyone remember the Manley family of 7 brothers and 5 sisters who lived in Hawthorne Way? I was the youngest boy who started off in Hazlebury road School, went to Silver Street school, then to a middle school, then to Joseph Priestley School in Hackney. Lots of memories came back from reading these posts. Have searched for David Clements, David Lefevre, Roy Calvert to no avail. Are you all still alive?
I lived in the Off Licence in Montagu Road 1944-1971, the one on the corner of Jones scrap yard. The King's Head on a Friday night I believe was the Shoe String Club which I always attended, always had great rock and roll bands, much Chuck Berry, Coasters tunes. Imperial Hall once had Little Richard, and of course Edmonton Regal for Jerry Lee Lewis, Bill Haley maybe Buddy. I still support the great era of the rockin' 1950s.

Me and my sister used to walk from the leafy streets of Pretoria Road to the open air theatre in Pymmes park. This included watching Punch & Judy.
We also went to Wilbury Way School and used to go to the pictures at the Regal on Saturday mornings with our friends.
Did you know Bob Marley played at the Regal before he became famous?
I still live in Edmonton ā very different now though!
