I have been living in Bloomsbury for the last couple of years. Unfortunately where I am living, they are refurbishing the whole building, and I need to move out, which upsets me very much. I am therefore looking for another place to live closeby. If you have a spare room that you would like to rent out, please feel free to email with details.
I am 35 non smoking female. Interests, theatre, food, travel and running.
Did you know that there is a Women's Institute (WI) here in Bloomsbury that meets monthly on the third Tuesday of the month?
6:30 - 8:30pm

Bannatynes are doing a really good deal at the moment!
We are shooting a short film in 7th, 8th and 9th of November 2008. We need an open plan flat space to shoot it. It can be a loft, a warehouse or a spacious flat. It doesn’t need more than one bedroom, but the open space should be spacious. We would need unrestricted access during these three days.
We can only offer £100 for the whole period and a copy of the film once is completed. Would suit anyone wanting to hire the flat for productions as a showcase or anyone wanting to shadow a short film production.
Please get in touch by email and email your address and pictures of the flat in the first instance to

Seeking a period townhouse or mews to rent in bloomsbury area asap. We are two designers one from Sweden one from the UK looking for a comfortable and stylish home where we can have friends over for dinner and enjoy a good lifestyle in the centre of the capital. We have lived in many great locations borough market and parsons green but we now seek more character and substance from our living abode, with the chance to make new friends and socialise within a grown up and sophiscated neighbourhood. If you have any suggestions where we should look we appreciate your assistance. As you mention properties we have in mind will not be available on gumtree etc so where do we look? The next obvious place is the estate agents but probably very expensive.

There are many places in Bloomsbury, community centres, etc that you could meet people. If you want to mail me I can let you know other venues as I have lived here for many years!
A small but perfectly formed poetry group meet to read their latest offering, to discuss and enjoy each other's company. This is a group of mature adults who enjoy the company of other's and have a passion for verse of all kinds. We invite you to come along and share your poetic thoughts and musings. The next meeting is on October 19th at the Lamb public house, Lambs Conduit Street, London WC1 on the 1st floor. If you have any friendly questions please contact Mail-me
Hello, Ive just started nannying in Bloomsbury and there doesn't appear to be too many nanny's around at the baby groups etc. Im 19 and although I know people in London I don't know many people close to where I live. It would be great to get some contacts, to meet for coffee, go for drinks etc. So get in touch if you are a nanny, or know of any!
Thanks

I am a native English speaker with a first-class honors degree in English Literature and experience of teaching English abroad (in Japan). I am available to give English language lessons in the Bloomsbury area. I can come to you if you organise a group (£10 per student with a max of 6 students) or for one-on-one teaching to individuals (£20 an hour) I can come to you, or you can come to me. I can also supply course materials.
If you are interested in tuition, please e-mail me at
I'm looking for a good NHS dentist near Queen Square. D. Levinstein (recommended on this site last year) isn't taking new patients at the moment.
i went to a fantastic hairdresser in lambs conduit st..interesting, great design of space, good fun laid back conversation with fantastic choice of tunes..'Badlambs' and if ur a student shampoo cut and blowdry under 30quid..
I was born at 48b torrington place 14/6/51 it is still standing
did you find a tiler? I am availablle for work, references available.

Derick levinson on lambs conduit st is excellent.
I've lived in Bloomsbury for about a year now and it has to be the optimum location to live in London. 5 minutes walk north, you've got Regents Park, great for a jog, and with the most fantastic public tennis courts I've seen. 5 minutes walk south and you have the delights of Soho, Oxford Street and of course Covent Garden with the best shopping in London. I live off TCR and have (large) Tesco, Marks' and Sainsbury's supermarkets within a 100 metre radius. Yet at the same time, its extremely safe at night, and quiet around where I live. Travel links can't be beat (in walking distant of 6 tube stations), though I tend to walk everywhere because London isn't as big as you think. Save heaps of money doing this (even walk home from London's top clubs - big saver!). Only issue is that accommodation rarely comes on the market (who'd want to leave?!) So, take my advice and go central (if you can)!
Hi all
I have a dog back at home and missed him very much. I am a full-time student here and have some spare time to walk or sit your dogs for minimum fees. Be assure that I will take good care of your dogs as I love dogs very much. So if you are interested, email me at
I used to write to someone who lived at Torrington Mansions, Torrington Place. Does this still exist? Can anyone help?
I'm looking for a tiler to tile my bathroom i'm in kings cross and would ideally like someone local with good references. Any leads much appreciated.

I've just moved here from America and am looking to join a ladies football club but don't know where to go. I am 24 and have played most my life. Does anyone have any advice of where to start?
Does anyone know a good NHS dentist near Goodge Street area.
Thanks
Meeting at Waterstone's Gower Street once a fortnight.
Ideal for setting a deadline if you're a serious writer.
Writers of full-length novels or non-fiction novels especially welcome.
Contact Ludwiga
If you are a student, try Hebe on Fleet Street, they make a student discount 10% and you can end up with 32 pounds for a cut + dry
tesco on clerkenwell road is really good. behind king's cross....
there is a mr topper's on tottenham court road, they offer cuts from 5 quid.
Am afraid it's night impossible in this area. Take a short journey up to Camden or Islington and they're slighty cheaper there.
Hi, I'm looking for a good ladies' hairdresser near UCL, not too expensive (ie. £30 max for wash/cut). Anyone know one?
I'm moving to London in July from NZ. Is it a good place to find flatshares?
I'm looking for a tiler to tile my bathroom.
Would prefer if they supply & fit.
Looking for a laundrette or laundry service in Bloomsbury (closest to the British Museum is best)
Yes, in Lamb's Conduit Street.
UCL Language School on Gower Street though I believe enrolment has completed for this term

The Museum Practice, (opposite the British Museum) is great.
All women GP's plus on site nurse for tests etc. and I've hardly had to wait at all. They're at:
1 GREAT RUSSELL MANS
LONDON
WC1B3BE
020 7405 2739
Its on the corner by Snappy Snaps opposite the Valencia Coffe Shop. Okey doke.
There is a Living Well on the Southampton Row corner of Tavistock square. They're good, and do spinning classes (altough I haven't tried any). There is also a fitness first underground at the Holiday Inn on Coram St. I think there is also an LA Fitness at the junction of Lamb's Conduit Street with Theobalds Road. Happy exercising.
gym around the corner 3 to choose from best is fitness exchange

I dont know but if you find one could you let me know !

best place to eat in bloomsbury is without a doubt 'ciao bella' at the bottom of lambs conduit street. italian as you might have guessed from the name...
Try Safeways in the Brunswick Centre--the odd concrete residential and shopping building opposite Russell Square underground station.
Bloomsbury is relatively expensive, but so close to the city centre that you can walk practically anywhere. It is not a great place to live if you are on a tight budget. The area seems to be a magnet for tourists because of all the hotels. Tourists in turn attract more beggars than average. University College London means the area also has a student population. The area has the Renoir Cinema, which shows world cinema. There is also the British Museum, attractive parks, elegant town houses and some nice sandwich bars.
Sainsbury in Angel
Fitness First, Livingwell, Canons all within easy walking distance. Fitness First doesn't have a pool but is much cheaper.
