My name is Barbara Stannard and I went to Pretoria Road Secondary Girls School. Anyone else out there go between the years 1958-1962? My form teachers name was Miss White and the headmistress was also called Miss Whyte. I have many happy memories of growing up there as a teenager and remember Murkoff's ice cream, Rathbone Street market, Andersons newsagents, Mr Thrifty (who stocked absolutely everything) and Jolly's greengrocers and the lovely pie and mash shop in Hermit Road. I lived in a maisonette in Trinity Gardens, Barking Road. Sadly the east end is no longer the great place I remember nor or the people the same! Tracy's Mum Mrs Rennie Rendell died last November sadly and I remember her vividly from my days in Canning town as a young boy.
