I lived in Borrett Road, during the 1950's and '60's. Family name Edney and Wignall. My grandparents (name Wheatley) lived there through the war and long after. I remember the grocers shop Holmes's on the corner, the "New buildings", the bombed school, Manor Place baths, the fish and chip shop opposite, the Italian man and his bicycle ice cream bike.

Hey Lynda, did you ever manage to make contact with Brenda Tolhurst, because I would really like to make contact with her again. We moved from number 1 Borrett Rd. and have been in Canada since 1968, unfortunately my Mum and Dad ended up in the Heygate. As I stated in my other post myself, Brenda Tolhurst and Jill Bodenham were all friends when younger.

Walworth Freddie Cutler

Freddie was a mate of mine in the early 60s.
He used to have a cry of Ee. Arthur.
As far as I can remember we both went to the same secondary school ( West Square ) near the Elephant.
Freddie must be about the same age as me (67 )

Anyone remember the Doctors at the Surgery on the Walworth Road? Dr James McManus was our GP. Wonderful man - because I already had a smallpox vaccination he made my second one next to it - it looked like a heart. He was a wonderful doctor and a great man. Sandra Fisher
