Walworth Memories

I lived in Alvey Street as a nipper. We had friends in Thurlow Street, can't say I remember the pub though. My brother had a mate, Raymond, somewhere in Dawes Sreet. The area is so different now. It's hard to recognise it as the same place. They should never have torn down all the terraces to make way for that council estate. It totally destroyed Walworth in my opinion.

I was born in 1951 and brought up in Inville Road. When we moved the hour glass was on the corner of Westmorland road. My family frequented the prince and princess of wales, many a Sunday I sat on the step with my packet of smiths crisps and bottle of lemonade.
