After reading your suggestion I went to Green Street -(Upton Park tube station) and had my eye brows threaded at Dee's - there is a man who holds a sign directing you. They did a brilliant job and for £2 you can't go wrong. Beats the £13 I use to pay at Malika...

i think you would have found that before the smoking ban you had be older than 18, and now because there is no Shisha, youths dont really fancy hanging out and having a meal together! So that **** to your comment!

I agree, a small amount of wino's with gamblin addictions will use it. It was one of my favourite pubs, until the last landlady took over, then I had to stop going.

She was a nutter. Probably her fault that it closed down. She used to run an unsuccessful gay pub in Leytonstone.

If we're really lucky, we might get another estate agent in the remaining empty unit! Whilst it is tragic that it should have ended up redeveloped in this way, it is considerably more tragic that, in 1925, the original Swan Coaching Inn of 1631 was demolished to make way for the present building. I suppose you could say what goes round, comes round... An early chapter in the disastrous ongoing saga of historic buildings in Stratford by a probably corrupt & certainly philistine council. I think as late as the 80's, there was a row of 4 or 5 large, early 18th century houses on the Broadway where we now have the main entrance to the Shopping Centre. Thanks, Newham!

We are thinking of renting a one-bedroom flat in the Central House development on High Street in Stratford. (the area looks pretty industrial, but it is cheap and near zone 2 transport...) i moved here 2 years ago. I live on a very peaceful street near stratford park. Its safe and I have never had any problems, the area has changed quite a bit in the 2 years that I have been here.
A lot of city types are moving out here, there is a real mixture of people. The center of Stratford has a buzz to it and residentially its great to escape it all.

You can still buy a house for 210k? apartments a bit more..

Personally I think we need more coffee shops and bars...

been there. very welcoming and freindly staff. good shisha, drinks and food. 1st in stratford. we need more places to chill. only problem is sometimes there are big groups of teenagers in there making it noisy at times.

Well customers think that this new shisha bar is great because of the atmosphere and decore which i do agree to but their staff are a load of rubbish because they have recently come out with this new policy that you have to be 18 to go in yet if your good looking age is thrown out of the window... For them its just a matter of having a group of good looking girls go there for their amusement... i was one of their first customers and never did i get treated as well as those who felt the need to have to throw themselves at them. its not jelously its just loyalty... and that doesn't exist with these workers.

Lounge 53 is probably the only decent place where us teenagers hang out in Stratford! Nice people there good for a laugh and a great socializing point
