I used to play for this football team from 1963 _ 70 in a sunday league. My dad [Len Richardson] used to run it. I would like to here from any team mates. I can see all your faces now. ok JIM

My mother, Mary Bridges, was brought up in Clayton Buildings Lollard Street and I remeber visiting my nan when she still lived there in the early 1950s. I've such vivid memories of the building and, as I've got older, wish I'd written down the stories. However, I would love to get hold of a photograph of Clayton Buildings or hear from anyone who also remembers them. They represented a very hard life, but I hope they were not demolished without any record being kept. Hilary

Hi Hilary, just read your message about Clayton Buildings. My gran lived in St Mary's Gardens, not far from Clayton Buildings and I am sure she lived there at some point. My mum who was born in 1929 in Lambeth, used to tell me stories of Clayton Buildings and latterly the baths, communal bathing, where you had to shout out for more hot in number 6 or whatever number cubicle you were in. Hard times, I am sure, but they all stuck together and got on with it didn't they. You have to admire them for that. I will ask my mum'sister if she has any pics of Clayton Buildings. Sadly my lovely mum died in 2005. Will let you know if I find any pics. Angela

Hi Angela, so good to get a reply from you and to know that someone else remembers Clayton buildings. It's such a shame the area appears to have been demolished and very few pictures taken for the archive. Yes, I remember the baths. In the days before we all had bathrooms, it seems incredible now but I remember my father always went for a bath the day we went on holiday ... can't imagine that now. He did always say that you had lovely towels and plenty of hot water. I think that was the treat before the holiday started, the rest of the time it was the tin bath in front of the fire. If you do manage to locate a photograph that would be super, so thank you for trying. Hilary

Hi all,
Looking for a move into London.

The block of Flats around HOTSPUR STREET have a few apartments for sale. It is just to the south of Black Prince Street. What is this area like to live in - crime, violence (as if they are mutually separate!) and the friendliness of the people etc?

Is this part of the congestion zone, if so, how does someone manage to just KEEP a car there? I rarely use one, but do have an old motor for longer trips.

I have memories as a very young child of Lambeth Walk, Vauxhall Walk...we lived on Tinworth St. as did my Nan who's name was Anne Madigan/McGill I went to Salamanca school. My Dad used to take me and my brother down the walk all the time to the eel and pie shops. Does anyone remember my family? Madigan/McGill?

For yoga, deepaspirit is pretty good - between Oval and Stockwell, and there's also free tai chi at the oval cricket ground on saturday. The Pacific bar is great for socialising but perhaps not on your own! Enjoy.  Mail-me

There's also a place called St Aubyns just off Kennington cross area which do massage and yoga classes.
As for other things to do...there's a farmers market in Oval on a Saturday, you could make friends with the regulars/stall holders! ALso I think the Dog House pub has comedy nights and a salsa night...
