The Hackney Book Group which actually includes people from Islington, Tower Hamlets and Hackney, has been running for 8 months now and we are looking for new members. We meet once a month at each others houses or a pub, for a glass of wine and a not too serious discussion about the book of choice. Paul O'Grady is back soon with his new ITV show and we're are looking for contributors from all over the UK that are interested in taking part.

Hello my name is Paul Little and i was looking for a local book club in the north london area, went to muswell hill libary this am and it appears that they run a monthley book club on the last monday of each month the next one is this monday 28th of June at 6.15pm to 7.15pm. they are disscusing Saturday night Sunday Morrning by Alan Stilltoe. i have not read it for years! but i am going to go it is at Muswell hill libary

Hi Everyone!

A friend of mine and I are running a mixed group book club for people in their 20s and 30s from Wandsworth / Clapham Junction / Putney / Clapham. We are looking for new members (girls and guys), especially more men to have more or less of an even balance. However, numbers are limited.

Its fairly a relaxed chilled group. Each member gets a turn to choose a book, anything from classics to science fiction....why? This is so we can truely appreciate (or ridicule!) the types of books published :)

Our next meeting is on Monday 21st June 2010 and the book we are going to discuss is called 'The Kite Runner' by Khaled Hosseini.

We are a very small group who meet once a month on a sunday afternoon to discuss books.

We would love new people to join our friendly group.

We are currently reading 'The sea, the sea' by Iris Murdoch.

Where: Islington - upper st (upstairs of the Slug and lettuce, until the weather improves then we meet in the park)

when: 11th April
Time: 2.30 onwards.

Anyone is welcome and we always make people feel welcome at our book club as we all have a common interest: to read.

So if you have free sundays and think hey would lvoe to join a book club, then come along and see what the fuss is all about. I promise you, you won't be disppointed, we haven't and we ahve been together for 15 months nearly.

I am looking to start a friendly social group which will meet at least once a month at various locations across London.

Each meeting we would do something difference, for example one month review a book over a few drinks, the next maybe go and see a film or an exhibition etc.
