Besides feeling better for it and getting through the pregnancy well, they are great for meeting mums if you go regularly. I am a physio and run classes. I know women who are still friends 5 years on and kept in touch with the group of mums that they met. There are local classes and I run one up in Wimbledon Village on a Monday at Pilates Art Physiotherapy (ph 020 8879 7711). Good luck! Have you heard of the National Women's Register? There are groups all over the country, including Merton Park and Wimbledon Park. We meet in each others houses roughly once a month - the evening has a theme or topic. There is also a book group once a month and a walking group. There is no commitment, you can dip in and out as you choose. This site won't let you post links to other web-sites, but you can Google it. In response to the lady looking for a WI - there isn't one in Wimbledon. WI tends to be a rural phenomenon. You would need to go out of town a bit into Surrey - again I'm sure you can Google it. I did read an article a while back which said that WI had been revived in Fulham. Feel free to contact me if you want more information.
