Post reply -->London Tulse Hill Should we remove this post ? ^ Tulse Hill tulsehilldays@yahoo.co.ukBar 196 is a sweet restaurant, although almost always empty(!) it's a favourite of ours. Reasonable pizzas and good garlic bread with a drinkable house plonk. The staff are friendly and unpretentious, I feel sorry that no-one goes to their restaurant! Must say though it had far more character when it was called The Italian Job and had model mini cars along the banisters and lots of fake geraniums everywhere! The rent is lightly cheaper and I think better value for money. You can pick and choose from 3 stations, its close to Herne Hill which is very upcoming and there are some quite good restaurants. It's still close enough to central london to afford a cab, without breaking the bank and the people are friendly - I know my neighbours on both sides, its a community feel - it's slightly alternative and very cosmopolitan. Post reply -->London Tulse Hill Should we remove this post ? ^ Tulse Hill browns cabsi just got a cab from their office to gipsy hill and the driver charged me £6...weekday and at 11pm. that is a rip off! have heard similar from others too. avoid at all costs. Of all the taxi companies I have used they are without doubt the best. Post reply -->London Tulse Hill Should we remove this post ? ^ Tulse Hill DentistThe dentist i use is actually in west norwood, about 10 min walk. It is NHS and easy to register, I dont know the actual address but if you go to west norwood bus station, look for Knights Hill and it is practically at the begining of the hill, on a corner, easy to find if you try! Post reply -->London Tulse Hill Should we remove this post ? ^ Tulse Hill The Half MoonThe Half Moon Dental Surgery on the main junction of Herne Hill (about 15-20 min walk) takes NHS patients and is quick and easy to register Post reply -->London Tulse Hill Should we remove this post ? ^ Tulse Hill Half Moon Dental Surgery^ Tulse Hill Does Somerfield count? The small but adequate Somerfield on the corner of Norwood Road and the South Circular could be considered a super market if there was anything super about it. You will be hard pressed to get a smile or friendly word out of the staff and the aisles aren't big enough for trolleys but hey, maybe you might still want to do a singles night just to amuse the poor drudges stacking the shelves... Post reply -->London Tulse Hill Should we remove this post ? ^ Tulse Hill Maybe for youI disagree with your comment about Sommerfield being unfriendly, they all seem nice, you just need to know how to be nice to them and understand they really do have one of the most shitiest jobs around! Post reply -->London Tulse Hill Should we remove this post ? ^ Tulse HillI have lived in the area for 2 years - twice as many the number of smiles I've had from sommerfield employees. And yes - I do know how to be nice to them - I always say please and thank you but I don't think they do.... There are two gyms, the cheap thats really cheap and the second thats a lot more up market, worth a try.. Post reply -->London Tulse Hill Should we remove this post ? ^ Tulse Hill Trains in Tulse HillFrom my experience, and I live right next to the station. Trains are really not to bad at all. Obviously at about 8.30 they are that little bit busier but if your going a bit before or after this your normally ok. I normally leave around 8ish for London Bridge, and I can't remember the last time I didn't have a seat. Post reply -->London Tulse Hill Should we remove this post ? ^ Tulse Hill YepFrom around 8am - 9.30am, all trains from Tulse Hill to C.London and onwards are packed like japanese fish tins. Post reply -->London Tulse Hill Should we remove this post ? ^ Tulse Hill Better from Tulse Hill than from Herne Hill....Pity those getting on one stop later, in Herne Hill. Post reply -->London Tulse Hill Should we remove this post ? ^ Tulse Hill PAH! what is tulse hill like to live in?tulse hill is not a nice place to live in. i live near the station, Palace Road, and everytime i walk up it, especially at night, im scared for my life. if you leave your window open at night you can hear many fights and screams. most of the people are quite unfriendly and i am often harrased on my journey home. Post reply -->London Tulse Hill DiScO:Jim 8 Aug Should we remove this post ? ^ Tulse Hill PahI am really sorry for your experiences as I have also lived on Palace Road for the last 2 years and haven't had the same experience at all.
