i agree. have been in TH now for 3 years and it's lively but i haven't witnessed any crime. it's close enough to dulwich for something to do at the weekends and hopefully local amenities will improve. there are already some great niche shops on the high st and hillside gardens is fab. there has been a lot of improvement over the last year, so it can only get better!

Tulse Hill Development on Norwood Road

Apart from there being a new doctor's surgery, does anyone know what else will be going into the big new development? And will a big supermarket ever come??

Tulse Hill rumours of an all bar one...

but that's probably nonsense otherwise they would have plastered the fact all over it...
not sure why a big supermarket would move in given the competition...

i wouldn't say the supermarkets we have would be any competition for a sainsburys or tesco (or, if there is a god, waitrose). and there were rumours of tesco taking over the b&q site, which fizzled out. we need some catalyst to bring tulse hill up.

Tulse Hill Anything for the older genration?

My mum is her in her 80s and lives on her own in Tulse Hill. Has got all her marbles but is socially isolated - friends and family dying like flies. I'm not sure she's the day centre type.
Anyone know any activities that might interest an older person?

Tulse Hill Find a volunteer agency or volunteers to visit

Why not find a volunteer agency with other elderly people? Maybe there is someone who could meet up with your mum for tea in the same stage of life?

Tulse Hill Thinking of moving to Leigham Vale

I'm thinking about moving into a flat in Leigham Vale and wondered what the street was like in terms of saftety. I would always get a cab late at night in any case, but wondered what the walk was like from Tulse Hill station in general.

Hi - having similar problem myself re french doors! If you have any luck would be interested in hearing. All I have managed to figure out is that its next to impossible to find someone willing and who doesnt end up charging £1000 - which is odd since the doors would retail at £200 odd and fitting cant be more than a few hours. Any info would be welcome

Tulse Hill Tulse Hill

We have recently moved to Lanercost Rd and just love the area, so if your thinking about moving here - go ahead: large houses, wide tree lined streets, some lovely views and even though you have the south circular nearby the air just seems better. For green space you have Brockwell Park, Hillside Gardens, Norwood cemetary & Dulwich Park, for nightlife there is the Railway in Tusle Hill and bars of Brixton, Herne Hill, Clapham & East Dulwich wich are all 5 minutes away. We found a great doctor in Deerbrook Road and can buy fresh organic food and seafood in Norwood High Street. On the bad side: I havent found a good primary school yet - so welcome any suggestions? And the high street is basically just a junction for the south circular but that isnt a true reflection of the people who live here. Oh and by the way - I read that they are building shops and accomodation at the new development on Norwood High Street but the lack of advertising the fact means that it can only be ugly.

Tulse Hill noise on s circular

It's noticeable and annoying if you don't have double glazing. with double glazing i don't think it's that bad.

security is ok - especially as so much passing traffic on thurlow park road, though obviously best to be wary walking at night etc...
