Post reply -->London Tulse Hill J. 15 Dec Should we remove this post ? ^ Tulse Hill Farmers MarketToday, between 10 and 3. I have a post further down with more details. It's on Norwood High St at the Lancaster Avenue junction. It will also continue in the new year on a trial basis, so let's support it! ^ Tulse Hill As far as i can make out its 17-21 Thurlow Park Roadreferred to mostly as "Avenue Park Filling Station" it seems Post reply -->London Tulse Hill Bob 9 Dec Should we remove this post ? Tulse Hill QuestionAre there any estate agents letting offices based in Tulse hill Post reply -->London Tulse Hill jane 16 Nov Should we remove this post ? ^ Tulse Hill yes there are a few...In tulse hill itself there's Monopoly Homes and another one who's name escapes me on Station Rise. There's another few just up the road in W Norwood including Stapleton Long and a Haart i believe. Wates and KFH appear to be pretty dominant in terms of the signs you see outside houses etc... I am so annoyed that they are happy to spoil the rest of our high st with their disgrace of a pub. Any suggestions as to what we can do? Post reply -->London Tulse Hill PT 1 Nov Should we remove this post ? ^ Tulse Hill Steady! It's not like the rest of the high street is up there with High St Ken - you're talking charity shops, off licence's and takeaways! Post reply -->London Tulse Hill Gary 2 Nov Should we remove this post ? ^ Tulse Hill yes stop looking at the pubfirst u say apparently have you gone in and asked ....no secondly if u have a problem with it why dont you enter the pub ask the new manager who is turning it round and then offer to do the outside of the pub problem solved...ur thinking why should i do...answer...because u have a problem with it so fix it your unhappy with it not them ...now youll send abuse to me or pick holes in what ive written but its true do somthing about it dont complian and sit around and listen to apparent rumours. thanks Post reply -->London Tulse Hill Anoin 10 Jul Should we remove this post ? ^ Tulse Hill Dont you care? That the high street could look better? And if not, why bother living here? Post reply -->London Tulse Hill pt 2 Nov Should we remove this post ? ^ Tulse Hill Of course I care...... but you're dealing with private property - as long as the pub isn't breaking any laws you can't just march in there and demand a nicer deco just to try and up local house prices. I suspect the White Hart turns a handsome profit as a downmarket boozer, so why would they alienate their customers by trying to turn it into something else? It's a slippery road we go down if we want to 'veto' certain shops or businesses - and one that has been raised before in the area when people were talking about having the car wash place on station rise closed down - these are peoples' businesses and livelihoods and i don't think we have a right to intrude with a particular set of values. It would be the charity shop next, then the afro barbers, then the kebab shops. Like people complaining about supermarkets and not having a tesco when there's 2 somerfields, a co-op and an iceland all within 10 minutes of each other. I think it's extraordinary to expect an area to change to s Post reply -->London Tulse Hill Gary 13 Nov Should we remove this post ? ^ Tulse Hill I see your pointbut I for one would like a nice family restaurant/cafe to go to on the weekends without having to travel over a mile (though the walk is healthy!). Apart from that, I'm not having a go at every business, but it does bother me that the outside of the White Hart (not the inside) is falling into disrepair. It's a lovely and very central piece of architecture and I hate looking at it every morning on my way to the station. The nature of shops in Tulse Hill may not change, but they should be maintained. I don't think that's too much to ask. Post reply -->London Tulse Hill pt 15 Nov Should we remove this post ? ^ Tulse Hill in fairness...I see yours too. And The White Hart is the scariest boozer i think i have ever seen. Post reply -->London Tulse Hill Gary 17 Nov Should we remove this post ? Tulse Hill Farmers MarketJust read in 'Lambeth Life' that there is going to be a farmers' market in front of the Co-op on Norwood High St, fortnightly on Saturdays, with produce from Southern England. Sounds great! Post reply -->London Tulse Hill PT 30 Oct Should we remove this post ? Tulse Hill Palace Road, Tulse HillI'm moving into a flat (on my own) in Palace Road closest to Tulse Hill station. I'm concerned about arriving home on my own late at night. Any views on this??? Post reply -->London Tulse Hill Maria 29 Oct Should we remove this post ? ^ Tulse HillI moved to Tulse Hill a year ago (woman living with a friend) and have had no real problems. Its like anywhere - a good idea is to walk with purpose, have a set of keys between your fingers should someone grab you but I doubt you'll need to do that here. I had doubts about moving to Tulse Hill but am very happy I did - there's a good sense of communiyt and with the green sapces, maybe tht's why people don't seem aggressive. Post reply -->London Tulse Hill PT 3 Oct Should we remove this post ? ^ Tulse HillIt is owned by the Scottish & Newcastle brewery. Are you considering writing to them about the dreadful state of the pub? Post reply -->London Tulse Hill 11 Oct Should we remove this post ? ^ Tulse HillIt is owned by the Scottish & Newcastle brewery. Hope you're writing to complain about the dreadful state of their pub! If enough of us complain they might just get round to doing something about it. It is in a prime site and could be a fantastic place to go. They should take a look at The Railway to see what a good pub looks like. Post reply -->London Tulse Hill 11 Oct Should we remove this post ? ^ Tulse Hill the white hartthanks. i am definitely planning on writing to them. if i find out who the right person is to write to and post it here, will others back me up? i'm determined to make tulse hill trendy! or at least easier on the eye!! Post reply -->London Tulse Hill pt 14 Oct Should we remove this post ? Tulse Hill Just Moved INMe and My housemate have just moved in to a property on Perran Rd, just oppositwe the station. Wandering if anyone had any ideas about good pubs and bars in the area which they could recommend? Post reply -->London Tulse Hill Will 26 Sep Should we remove this post ? ^ Tulse Hill Pubs...Not a great deal to choose from - the Railway next to the station is pretty good but annoyingly don't take cards. Decent food and a great beer garden/patio though that's not such a big deal at this time of year. The White Hart on the corner of Station Rise frankly looks terrifying and have never been inside. The posters on the outside saying 'reclaim your pub from drug dealers' are not a terrific sign. There's the Tulse Hill Tavern as well - don't know much about it. Lancasters bar on the corner of Lancaster Avenue with Norwood road does great burgers for a reasonable price. Apart from that not much going on... Post reply -->London Tulse Hill Bob 9 Oct Should we remove this post ? ^ Tulse Hill RailwayThe Railway does take cards now - at least that's what the sign on the door says! Tulse Hill Leigham ValeWe are thinking about buying a house in the row of houses nearest to the bottom of Leigham Vale(near TH station). We have two children and even though the house is lovely we are worried about the area after reading all the listings. Good buy or not?? Post reply -->London Tulse Hill 18 Sep Should we remove this post ? ^ Tulse Hill depends on the price...it's not the nicest area but that's factored into the price... it is not unsafe if that's what you're worried about - only incident i have seen in the area was at midnight on a night bus which could have been anywhere. overall an up and coming area. in general i think the dulwich side of TH station is a little nicer.
