Sydenham convenient and pleasant
The best thing about Sydenham is probably the easy access to the City and west end by train. It has a nice old-fashioned villagey town centre with a small Safeways plus a trad butcher, baker, fishmonger and everything-shops, in addition to Boots, Superdrug and most of the high street banks. Up the hill from Sydenham station is the finest Italian restaurant in the land, 'That's Amore', which serves fine food amid the vocal stylings of the owner of the establishment. However the creme brulee is enough reason to visit. It's also easy to get to Forest Hill and Crystal Palace where you can find quite a few good places to eat and drink.
