Surbiton Dinner ClubHi We are in the process of broadening out our book club’s/social group to include a monthly dinner night. How it works so far is that people who have signed up will receive an invitation each month to come along to a dinner meeting each month and spend the evening having a nice meal out. Venues will be around the wider locale and will change each month. The invitation will detail the restaurant, rough price (assume £15-25 + drinks) so you can budget for the meal and any drinks you may want of the evening. The group has a fairly wide age span, late 20’s through mid 40’s, predominantly single professionals. Esher Art collage does a variety of craft course and workshops. Surbiton Thinking of Opening Cafe in Thame DittonHi We are thinking of opening an organic cafe in Thames Ditton high street. We would use meat from a local farm, sell cakes, hot drinks etc. In the evenings we plan to hold classes from cake making to crafts such as cross stitching. Do you think that Thames Ditton could hold another cafe? I notice that the village bakery closed down- does anyone know why that was? Any thoughts would be great Thanks Rose Post reply -->London Surbiton Rose 28 Dec Should we remove this post ? ^ Surbitonthe population and more importantly, the foot fall in Thames Ditton is in my opinion not sufficient to warrant ANOTHER cafe, its a reasonably small village and there is already two places to buy coffees from and then you are a five minute cycle to Hampton court with c.5 cafe's in a row which service the tourists up there. IT boils down to if you want to work in Thames Ditton what can you do that the local people want/need and if you want to run a cafe where would you need to locate it in order to make money. There is a row of shops in Surbitron on Maple Road that could do with a cafe, but I think the Frnech table looks as if it may open one. If not, that may be an appropriate spot. Key to opening a cafe is foot fall - high levels required to stay open if you want customers IN the cafe, Or having a high level of take out, like for stations etc. Post reply -->London Surbiton Lisa 30 Dec Should we remove this post ?
