Streatham I dont use the overground but the buses are good - lots of them and very regular

I used to live in North London and was used to waiting up to 30mins for a bus, which then was too full to get on (so screaming matches were common!), so it's refreshing how much better the buses are in Streatham/Streatham Hill - and it's got even better since the congestion charges came in.

Streatham trains into victoria in rush hour...

are full but not packed. I used to use the train from Streatham to the City. Now THAT is PACKED. The one to Victoria, you can get a seat if you're determined and all the coaches have turned up.

Streatham Trains arent bad

I've lived all over London and I reckon the train links in Streatham are fine! Plus, if you need to get the Thameslink, there's one that starts at Streatham at 8.10am so you're practically guaranteed a seat all the way to work! I think it is worth remembering that London transport is pretty ropey wherever you live, and it's not much better outside town either!

Streatham

i think its much nicer than getting a hot sweety unreliable tube i.e northern line - so far i've hardly seen any trains cancelled (literally 1 or 2) and when they are there's often another one shortly afterwads but it does depend on what time and where your going - train to london bridge seems pretty reliable - dont believe everything you hear from mr. grumpy above!

Streatham Trains from Streatham Station

Sorry, have to agree with 'Mr Grumpy' above. Thameslink trains to Blackfriars / City, are APPALLING. with the exception of the 08:10 (always get a seat but punctuality is questionable) it is a lottery. 07:46 has been on time once that I can remember and there is never any information. Very stressful.

However... buses to Brixton aren't bad, and the Victoria line is useful. Depends on where you need to go

Off-peak trains aren't as bad, and is a quick way into town, so depends on when you travel...
