Post or Ask something here in 'Shepherds Bush' Shepherds Bush Shepherds Bush Pavillion as a Xmas VenueDoes anyone know or have details on the facilities of Shepherds Bush Pavillion so it may be hired as a Xmas venue Post reply -->London Shepherds Bush Andy Olds 23 Nov ^ Shepherds Bush It looked closedWent to a gig next door last night 4/12, the pavillion looked boarded up Post reply -->London Shepherds Bush 5 Dec ^ Shepherds Bush Top VenueThe telephone number can be found on the outside. It is however, used for very specialised gigs, I have walked by a few times over the past year and seen the red carpet and paparrazi camping outside. I know they had the rolling stones and nme afterparties there. Post reply -->London Shepherds Bush 4 Jan Shepherds Bush How Far?I was just wondering how far Shepherd's bush high street is from Notting hill tube station. I don't mind walking as long as it's no longer than fifteen minutes or a bad area. I am meeting a friend so is it any good for shops? Post reply -->London Shepherds Bush Sandra 14 Nov ^ Shepherds Bush Walking to Shepherds BushIt's quite a way; at least 20 minutes along busy main roads with a horrible set of underpasses at the Shepherds Bush Roundabout. Better to stay on the underground - Shepherds Bush is only two stops on from Notting Hill Gate on the Central Line - or catch buses 94 or 148. Shopping - it's OK, some shops in the indoor shopping centre on the south side of the Green. Post reply -->London Shepherds Bush Julian and Phil 14 Nov Shepherds Bush Gym in Shepherds BushI'm moving to Shepherds Bush this weekend. Can anyone tell me the name of a good gym? I'm a girl but don't care if it's female only or unisex, also tell me price if possible. Also, is there a bus that goes from Shepherds Bush to the city? I work in Holborn and was hoping to avoid the bus, even a bus to Oxford Street or Tottenham Court Road area? If there is, what number bus is it? ^ Shepherds Bush Buses from Shepherds BushBus 94 runs from Goldhawk Road and Shepherds Bush Green to Oxford Circus, you can change there for buses on to Holborn e.g. 8, 25, 55, 98. What's the road like? Is it safe? I know people get mugged all over but from what i've read the bush seems to have a higher precentage than normal. What is the Goldhawk Tavern like? Is it a trendy bar or more an old mans hangout? Or even a chav den??? Any info or pre-warning appreciated! Mail-me Post reply -->London Shepherds Bush dave 8 Nov ^ Shepherds Bush Its okay.Shepherd's Bush is alright in terms of safety, as long as you use your loaf. Uxbridge Road is always busy, especially in the summer. There are about enough nice bars - Bush Bar, the Goldhawk, The Eagle on Askew Road and the fantastic Crown & Sceptre on Melina Rd. Plenty of interesting ethnic restaurants etc. The only downside is that there are a lot of drinkers on the Green. As far as muggings/nutters is concerned, I'd say the Bush is about average. Feels safer than Hackney. Dunno about the Goldhawk Tavern, but the Goldhawk on Goldhawk Rd is a really nice bar. Post reply -->London Shepherds Bush 22 Apr Shepherds Bush Is Tesco taking over the world? Is it just me or is Tesco opening new shops everywhere? In the last month, they've opened a store in the Goldhawk Road, one in Holland Park (resulting in the closure of Cullens and Hearts the Grocers) and more recently, another shop has opened in the corner of Fulham Rd and Munster Road. Maybe that's the beginning of the end for the corner shops who won't be able to compete. One of the girls, who was about 9 and quite overweight, was munching through a 50gr bag of crips and her brother, who was about 6 was getting through a whole packet of sweets. When they finished their 'breakfast' they opened the bus window and dumped their rubbish out on the street. The mother didn't say anything, but I did. I looked at them and told them 'excuse me, you shouldn't be doing that', they looked at me surprised. Her mother, started swearing at me - she said 'you f***ing bitch, you don't tell my kids how to behave'. I said 'you are right, I should be telling them, you should. Are you not embarrassed by their behaviour?'. She swore a bit more but kept quiet. I am not suggesting that everybody speaks up when they see something like the above happening, but if we all did when it is safe to do so, perhaps we could make a difference to tomorrow's society. Post reply -->London Shepherds Bush tennisa resident 3 Aug Shepherds Bush WeirdI watched Fulham match last season and then took a wrong turn and ended up on shepherd's bush high street. It was about 10.10pm so I wanted to get home via the tube. A man was standing next to me and then when I passed he started p - ing on the side of a house!!! I was just wondering why no-one did anything. Is it a freak area??? Post reply -->London Shepherds Bush Michael 27 Jul ^ Shepherds Bush Its normal...That's normal. I've lived in the area for two years and nothing surprises me anymore. I've witnessed gun shots (just up my street), drug dealing, vandalised cars (local kids amuse themselves by smashing car windows at night), drivers who obviously don't know what a 'one way street' means, drunken fights outside the roughest pubs you can imagine (try the Greyhound near White City estate only if you have life insurance), kids on bikes that consistently ignore all the rules in the book and when you bring it to their attention, they swear at you. Still, you try and buy a property here. You won't find a one bedroom flat for less than £200K. Try renting and expect to pay nothing less than £950 a month (plus bills, of course). It's ridiculous. The only great things about Shepherds Bush are the variety of bars and restaurants, the proximity to Heathrow and the access to decent transport. I will be moving out soon. Post reply -->London Shepherds Bush a resident 28 Jul ^ Shepherds Bush weird^ Shepherds Bush^ Shepherds Bush Is Shepherds Bush really worse than anywhere else?Hi saw the post about crime in the area and am (was?!) planning to move to Shepherds Bush from North London. Every area has it's rough spots, does the description of guns etc relate only to those, or does Shepherds Bush in general feel unsafe? I am moving to Galloway Road so appreciate anyone's experience of that area. Thanks.
