Like Nando's, Pizza Express (even Pizza Hut) or a lovely cosy bistro serving steaming bowls of pasta.. Basically anything other than Indian, Chinese, Kebabs, fried chicken, or the other takeaway rot that is in endless supply. (some of the takeaways are good but it would be lovely to have some options and somewhere to sit in and eat rather than going to the dome). I know there are 2 children's centres in Plumstead that appear to be within walking distance. Many thanks Mail-me isn't the Glyndon rough? My partner grew up in Plumstead and says he wouldn't reccommend anywhere near the Glyndon. Is he wrong about this? They do drop in sessions for toddlers and babies, best to call the number on the Greenwich website as I am not sure when they are. The local church Trinity on the corner of Burrage Road and Plumstead Common Road also does a drop in play session on a Tuesday morning. There is also a library at the Slade which does a toddler rhyme time. During 1968 I started attending Latin-American/Ballroom dancing at the Court School of Dancing, Welling. Through dancing I met a girl-friend and we used to go dancing at the Plumstead Radical Club on either a Saturday/Sunday evening, maybe both nights. The dance hall used to be at the rear, and there used to be a band. There also used to three breaks where an act, e.g. a comic, used to give the band a short rest. I don't know when the dance night stopped, but I recall those fun nights with fondness.
