 | Mile End Impact of Mile End Park improvementsI'm doing research into what's happened to the area around Mile End Park since the place was improved and made safe, and how the local economy has benefitted. Can anyone tell me how they feel perceptions of the area have changed? Is there more going on, are there more places to go? What's happened to the quality of housing and businesses in the area? Does good food, has a wide variety of wines & ales & seating is on lovely squishy sofas & chairs. There is also a 'beer garden' for those sunny days. They close on wierd days though. The Crown is a completely organic pub and is at the end of Grove Road where Victoria park starts - a bit more expensive but definitely worth it! I'm Chinese and the food tastes more Chinese than Japanese - esp. since the kitchen staff are Chinese - it hasn't convinced me. I've been quite a few times, every time thinking that I should never go back, though I ended up giving in because of my Japanese food cravings. Not any more!
