Lewisham Lewisham & Catford Town CentresSadly Lewisham and Catford Town Centres are in decline and need regenerating ASAP. A part of the reason for the decline are crime rates are very high and people do not feel safe going there. Partly due to the large group of youths hanging around the area and especially the shopping areas. This is a shame as both Lewisham and Catford could be great places to live and visit again if regenerated and the Government and Local Authortities tackle the problems of crime and youth crime/antisocial behaviour properly. The largest police station in Europe has done much to lower the crime rates in my town, and the market and shopping centre are as safe as any suburban area.
