Harlesden Pound Lane Seconday Modern School

Hi Marian,

I would like to know the answer to your question as well.
I know the building has been demolished to make way for a large housing estate, but would like to know when it was pulled down. I would love to know if anyone has any old photos of the school as well.
I've found a couple on friends reunited but I don't think many people had cameras at that time, unlike today.

Harlesden Futters

Hi Tony

My dad worked there - Tommy Little. He was one of those old engineers you mention! He died ten years ago. Any memories of him? Would be neat to build a picture of him at work.
Mum Joan Little also worked there on and off.

Harlesden Langston

Hi Dave F,
I lived in Rucklidge Avenue and lived very close to a family called Langston, I think there were two or three daughters and a lad who I'm sure was named Derek.
I can't be sure but I think they lived at number 5.
Sorry I can't be more specific.
Regards
Ken

Harlesden Cafe next to alley on Harrow Road

Hi  Mail-me
I have very fond memories of the cafe. I think your mum would have served me there.
Between about 1958 and 1961 my mum used to give me three shillings on a Saturday to take my younger brother to the cafe for dinner. We always had sausage egg and chips and a drink and that cost one shilling and sixpence each. We always sat by the window even if we had to wait for the seats to empty and then we would move.
I remember to this day the fantastic flavour of the sausages ( can't find anything like them now) with a small amount of daddies brown sauce.
The two pubs opposite each other were The Elm Tree and The Green Man. We lived up the alley in Rucklidge Avenue. - great memories, thank you.

Harlesden Twice. Not once, twice.

I've been stabbed in Harlesden twice this month. I think it is a lovely place to live, far better than Oxford Street (which is where I lived before).

Harlesden Harlesden - the town that time wants to forget

Harlesden was once nice but now it's just depressing, full of rude people and people walking around like they are on the sets of "dawn of the dead". I know there are worser places and they are good shops but few and far between. Most people live there cos they don't have a choice.

Yes, I was there. Went to Swanage in1970; saw the midweek replay of Chelsea
and Leeds in the FA Cup final. One of my teachers was an african woman called Miss somme, also,
a scottish lady called Miss Sillars and a Norwegian man called Long. Sorry to say that Harlesden has been turned into a dump now.

My favourite teacher ever was Miss Lush. I heard a couple of years ago she was living in South Oxhey. I never went to Swanage but my sister who was a year younger went. I left Keble in 74 and was glad to say goodbye to it.

Hello

I don't have pictures but I do remember all the names you have called. I went to Keble Memorial from 1972. I meet up with some people yesterday that I haven't seen since I left Keble which would have been 30 years ago. Would be interested in organising a reunion - not sure how to go about though.

Harlesden Looking for old friends arunp92@yahoo.co.in

I lived in fortune Gate Road NW10 between 1975 and 1978. I went to Old field Primary/ Junior School in this area and enjoyed my childhood weekends in Roundwood park. I really would like to get in touch with my classmates. Ms Simon was the principal and we had a class=teacher Ms Gibson. There was a class-mate Rachael.

Anyone from that class please contact.
