She was probably my great grandmother and her surname would have been either Bull or Blake I think! Apparently big flash cars would all be lined up there. Don't know dates - could be anything from 1900 up the 1950s I suppose. A long shot but it would be so nice to know! Best wishes Pat Post reply -->London Canning Town patandterry5@bigpond.com 24 May Canning Town 42 Nelson Street, Canning TownOur great grandfather Edgar Hunt Beech grew up at this address and this weekend we went in search of the house he may have been born in also. I can get the date of his birth but it would have been about 1870. He and his family moved to India where he married my great grandmother whose surname was Fitzgerald (I think he married in India but it may have been earlier) in February of 1900 and my grandmother and her siblings were born. I know this is going way back and wouldn't expect anyone to recollect anything of my family but does anyone have photos of Nelson Street when there were houses there or could they tell me what happened to the houses. Thanks Mail-me Post reply -->London Canning Town Susan Alam 5 May Canning TownLooking for any information on my MURPHY family from Plaistow and Canning Town. From the 1891 census I have established the following were living there :- James Smith (My Great Grandfather) Matilda Smith (My Great Grandmother) Thomas Smith Aleizadra Smith Catherine Smith Alfred Smith (My Grandfather) Mary Smith As near as I can tell, my Grandfather joined the merchant navy and emmigrated to NZ in about 1903. He lost touch with the rest of his family and didn't even talk much about them to his children (he died when I was 9). It would be great to track down some living relatives or fill holes in the family tree, so if you remember anything or can offer suggestions where i could look it would be appreciated. I can be contacted on Mail-me Thanx Post reply -->London Canning Town Glenn 22 Jan Canning Town Saunders and OdenwalderDoes anyone have any information on Anora or Nora Saunders she married William Odenwalder in 1906 and they lived in Frances st Canning Town.
