I should have mentioned that I started with the censuses to which I could gain access (up to 1911) but with no joy. I learned from old maps that Geoffrey Rd had once been Manor Rd then St Peter's Rd in about 1908 and sometime thereafter it became Geoffrey Rd and was definitely known as this at the time of WWII as the website flyingbombsandrockets dot com refers to bomb damage in the Brockley area and consequent loss of life and injury to property and person on 24 June 1944 and 27 July 1944. I am not sure how I can find out whether No 42 was damaged or whether it is still standing today, and who might have lived there prior, during and immediately after the war but no later than the sixties. I appreciate any help that someone in the local area could give me on this without compromising present occupants in any way which is not my intention. Many thanks. I live in a ground floor of a victorian conversion on Hillyfields. When the house was converted into the flats in their infinite wisdom they decided to attach the waste pipes (kitchen/ bathroom) from the first floor flat to the gutter down pipe.. This means when they are used after a period of time a terrible smell pours out when they are used.. So my questions are 1. Does anyone else have the same problem ? 2. Any recommendations for a plumber to fix ?
