I havent experienced any negative incidents when i was living there. Bethnal Green is one of the nice parts of the borough. Especially Victoria Park area. Hope that helps. Post reply -->London Bethnal Green Paula 21 Sep Should we remove this post ? ^ Bethnal Green nothing to worry about.don't know if you have moved to russia lane. just for re-assurance, i was born and brought up just round the corner from russia lane, went to the primary school across the road from there. one of my closest friends lives in russia lane and i visit 2-3 times a week. the area is nice, very good for public transport & its safe, trust me. i'v been there/go there all times of the day and evening but no trouble. you do see the usual groups of youth that look trouble but they are no harm & yes i agree with the other reply that victoria park is lovely, you won't be far from it only a minutes walk from the gates. hope that helps. The Trehearns moved away, my Nan went to Canada and My family occupied the whole house up until we were moved out to Pepy's House, Hartley Street when they pulled the old houses down. Bethnal Green Maureen Feldman 1944 - 2009Did anybody know Maureen Feldman. She was brought up in and around Stepney Green before moving to Harold Hill circa 1951. She went on to run pubs such as The Merry Fiddler's in Dagenham (early 60's) right up to 2009 with The Flying Scotsman, Caledonian Road. Sadly she died New Years Eve 2009. If anybody has any recollections of her I would love to hear from you. There are a lot of French Surnames on the memorial, these were descendents of the Huguenot weavers who settled in Spitalfields and Bethnal Green about 1700, as were my ancestors, our name was originally spelt Arnau but it was changed to Arno. A soundproof room in East/Central/North London would be ideal. It would only be me using the space. I would be practicing Mon, Tues, Wed and Friday evenings 7-9pm and on Saturday and Sunday 2-4pm.
