One was from a guy who was involved in that episode, he told what happened and why, he said the 50 yrs were up and should be made public, the D notice is removed. There was also an artical from a Russian who gave his point of veiw, he was the guy who was supposed to have killed him and the reason why. Post reply -->London Battersea Skipper. 26 Nov ^ Battersea - Hi Skipper re-. Buster CrabbeYes I did see the articles - i don't remember them giving a lot of detail, except a Russian claiming to have killed him. I think at the time i was getting him confused with "Buster" Crabbe the actor in Flash Gordon, i now realise that they are different people. Someone on the site told me that you can get DVD from Amazon, I took his advice and am pleased to report that i am now the proud owner of 6 1939 episodes. I haven't got round to watching them yet. Post reply -->London Battersea Sheila 26 Nov ^ Battersea Buster CrabbWas that the diver who was supposed to put devices on the bottom of ships or something? or am Iright off track? Post reply -->London Battersea Carol 26 Nov ^ Battersea Buster CrabbI found some more info Apparently they found a body in a frogman suit floating off pilsey island just over a year later. Had no head or hands. The Russian claimed he cut crabbs throat and got an order of the red star medal for doing it. Post reply -->London Battersea Carol 26 Nov ^ Battersea carolyou are right on track carol,it happened in the 50s,they made a film of it,i think it was something harvey was the star, the bloke wiv the blond hair, jimm Post reply -->London Battersea 26 Nov ^ Battersea Hi JimI remember reading about it some where, he dissapeared while attatching a device to a ship? I thought it was really interesting. Another one was, The man who never was, They took the body of a man who died of pnuemonia and planted documents on him and dropped him in the sea to fool the germans into believing they were going to invade.. oh I cant remember where it was now, but anyway the germans diverted troops there which left somewhere else vulnerable. Post reply -->London Battersea Carol 26 Nov ^ Battersea carolthe british special depts were good at missleading the enemy, they even had a double of monty posing around the mediteranian ports ,thousands of rubber blow up tanks and planes to fool the german air force,a clever lot were our boffins,it kept the british free until now, jimm Post reply -->London Battersea 26 Nov ^ Battersea Hi Jim/SheilaDid they really do that Jim? with the blow up tanks and stuff? I had heard that before but was not sure if it was true. I have to admit I have great admiration for people who went through the war, not just the men who fought in it, But the woman who must have been terrified for their kids, and the ones who sent their kids away to safety, must have broke their hearts to be parted from their children in such dangerouse times. Also the children, either cowering in bomb shelters or being sent away to god knows where and god knows who. Post reply -->London Battersea Carol 26 Nov ^ Battersea - Hi Jim/SkipperI remember reading recently about the Special Investigation Branch during the war. Somebody told me he belonged to it, and was behind enemy lines in Norway. Not sure if he was telling the truth or having me on. Do you know what this was. Post reply -->London Battersea Sheila 27 Nov ^ Battersea Jim/ SheilaI just thought That poor bloke who posed as Monty....Dangerous job that!!!!!!!!!!! Post reply -->London Battersea Carol 26 Nov Battersea Hi Sheila^ Battersea - Hi CarolShe is much better now, thanks for asking. They were all due to visit this weekend but we have had to re-schedule. Just as well really as we both have streaming colds. Thats the problem with a lot of small children around, we seem to keep picking up all their germs. Have just been looking on the internet for "The Wiggles" toys for Christmas. Post reply -->London Battersea Sheila 26 Nov ^ Battersea Wiggles^ Battersea - Hi Carol - "The Wiggles"I think i've mentioned them on the site before, but if you have no pre-school children you probably wouldn't have heard of them. It is a group of four Australian male entertainers. They seem to have cornered a niche in the market. They did a tour of the Uk this year, my London grandchildren went to Hammersmith Apollo to see them and the northern ones went to Nottingham. My sister who lives in Australia says they are huge over there. They even packed out Maddison Square Gardens (US). I met someone recently at a party who used to do their PR and she says they are now all millionaires. Yellow Wiggle (Greg) has recently left the group due to illness and has been replaced by Ben. They all seem a bit odd, probably cause they are in their forties, but the kids seem to love them, along with Dorothy the dinosaur and Wags the dog.....well, you did ask. Post reply -->London Battersea Sheila 27 Nov Battersea .........I come on here and all I can see is people complaining to the moderater about postings with no name. All you have to do .is to ignor them and whats with this claim of stalking, how on earth can you do that if you don't know the person/only by what they post. Just get it to-geather and post to each other as always, just take no notice of any snide remarks or iffy postings. Post reply -->London Battersea Skipper. 26 Nov ^ Battersea - Skipper/stalking!!I quite agree, i think we are getting a bit carried away now. If you feel that people are stalking you late at night, then don't go on late at night. Nobody knows who you are, so how can they stalk you. Post reply -->London Battersea Sheila 26 Nov ^ Battersea This Battersea site has lost it appeal I no longer want to be part of it only unpleasantness from supposed regular posters Old Battersea Site Is Better & safergood luck with all the anons posting that are appearing on here I donot need that agro or those people Post reply -->London Battersea fedup regular 26 Nov ^ Battersea OFFENSIVE POSTINGSIf you want decent behaviour Claire how come you have made no objection to the offensive postings relating to mosques by your regulars, some of which are not signed.
