I tried to leave a message for Anj to say that you did know the site was up and running (well sort of), but my posting didn't go on. I will check the road of the lavender field for you. Think it is at the junction of Croydon Lane and Woodmansterne Lane. I will check on the map later and let you know if thats wrong. Many thanks for the information on the Lavender Fields. I was interested because I used to live along Woodmansterne Lane and could not recall it. At first I thought it must have been near the Oaks Park because I remember they had a small shop there as well as the Cafe (which I remember only too well from my days when we turned the Cafe into a Polling Station for the day. Very pleasant it was too and getting paid as well). I seem to recall a sort of Caravan site on the corner opposite the Lavender Fields. Weather not too good up here today overcast and rainy. What is it like your way? Regards BB Post reply -->London Battersea 28 Jul ^ Battersea Hi BB lavender fieldsIt is quite nice round banstead way new watrose opened up in high street they had a fire in 208 store was burned it is a very green aera and nice places around there i used to walk up the brighton rd to offices to pay our rates i never realised how far it was and me being new to that part of the area then, here weather is fine might be just light passing showers but fresher we've been in muggy cloudy days since sunday having to put lights on in early eve is bit strange in sumertime i disliked the high temps and humid weather we were in for about a fortnght not lover of high summer but like autum and spring temps and pretty colours of those seasons its so difficult to get posts on and that spoils it for people communicating from a distance i wish these people would realise that Post reply -->London Battersea anj 28 Jul ^ Battersea Hi BBif we go around that way again i'll try to find out about the caravan site and if the cafe was still there . BB did you remember the funfair accident i can't find out much about it other then 5 children died many injured i know it was long time ago about 72 but wander if there was a memorial in the park to those people. did you know they have replaced the old memorial to civilians who died in ww2 .with a granite type of stone the old one was stolen it was metel this was put in cabual rd christchurch gardens a local business man paid for the new memorial we got pic of it Post reply -->London Battersea anj 28 Jul Battersea - Hi Anj, Lavender FieldsI have no idea who Katie is, hope she comes back though. We actually went to the lavender field in Banstead on Sunday. We took my cousin and her husband, but it was absolutely packed, nowhere to park, so turned round and came out. The perfume and colour were lovely, I would have bought a bunch but the queues were too long. So I sneakily picked a piece - don't think anyone saw............. Post reply -->London Battersea Sheila 21 Jul ^ Battersea lavender fieldsHi shelia we went on sunday we drove around and see this fields of lavender i think it was about 530 so not so many there could park easely the smell was very strong enough to send one off to sleep i really thought katie was my siser if you know what i mean by that igot great niece katie but shewouldn't use this site is a lovely girl always friendly Post reply -->London Battersea anj 21 Jul ^ Battersea - Hi Anj Lavender FieldsWe were there earlier, must have been about 2.30pm and it was very crowded then, so not a good time to go. Post reply -->London Battersea an j 9 Jul ^ Battersea - Hi AnjI can't say I like this weather much. I like it to be warm and sunny, but find its too humid at the moment. Going to be even warmer tomorrow. Have just come back from Isle of Wight, weather there was good, warm but not so humid. Wont write anymore, as this site is so hit and miss, some postings dont go on. Post reply -->London Battersea Sheila 9 Jul Battersea - Is it workingWell, my postings don't go on - or if this one does it will be the first for a while.
