Hi

Islington Registration district was created 1.7.1837. Sub Districts included, amongst others Barnsbury. GRO Vols III 1837-1851.

Barnsbury Verbal Picture Required  

Suffolk yokel has ancestors dating back to 10 Warner St. Islington (1881) and 20 Warner St. (1891).

Does this street still exist; what is it like — do the buildings look as though they date from this period?
Relatives were born in Barnsbury — is this a distinctly different area? They played football with the sons of prison wardens — what prison would this have been?

Barnsbury New to Barnsbury  

Hello, I am just moving into the Barnsbury area in Jan, and I am really looking forward to it, I already know about the hemmingford arms, but was wondering what other good pubs are around this area...

Also is the 5-a-side court available to use at all times, or is somebody in charge of it. I want to set up a team and if anybody can give me any details who or what owns the pitch that would be great...
