Retired Age is just a number

Hi All,

I'm 32, I live in north london and looking for an older female friend, someone older and wiser, who I can share a few laughs with over a nice quiet meal, turn to for advise, go out shopping with... I dont have a mum, or many older female relatives and have really missed this sort of female companionship. I dont think age should matter when it comes to friendships, because once we grow, life becomes more phased but we soon realise that how we felt inside at 20 is the same at 30 and 40, and 50 etc.. is it not? Email me  Mail-me

Retired In response to 32 year old...

It would be nice to have a younger friend. I miss my daughter, and I have my own problems, too. I am an American lady who would appreciate a new friend, but only if you are a non-smoker!

Retired living in france spain or morocco

You feel like living in France, Spain and Morocco į but you think stressful to find the house of your dream.

We offer you a trip to these countries (plane and hotel for 2 days for 1 person)* to visit and choose your future house.

Or you think that it will be more interesting for you to build the more cheaper possible a house in the region of your choice.

Our job is to replace you in the countries mentioned above to find you a large choice of:
- Houses for sale.
- Parcels to build and to be here all the time during the building process* ≤.

Retired responding to man that is offering to replace in country...

Spain, France, etc. I am from America and in the UK and though should be thinking of retirement, but just beginning life...writer, in the arts, and will be through with my degree next December. However, I will be on break this April and I am really serious. I am an American woman and own a condo; it is possible that I could get that sold...but maybe I want to keep an American home, too, but there is much more I would like to talk with you about.
This sounds enchanting. You can email me at  Mail-me

Retired Lawn Bowls Clubs

I recommend playing Lawn Bowls as an outlet. The sport is a good way of relieving the borderm of being at home all day, meeting people of ones' own age group, and occupying ones' mind for a few hours on a sunny afternoon for three/four hours per week. As we all know one thing leads to another so one could meet a partner or make a few friends for company. The sport may not be to everyone's taste, but take the positive option as one may be 50% right instead of 50% wrong. If you don't like the sport - don't go again, but on the other hand you may take to the sport and enjoy a lot of fun and company.

The computer database at your local library should be able to point you in the right direction; or get in touch with the English Bowling Association who would be able to refer you to your local club.

For me, taking up Lawn Bowls was one of my better decisions.

Retired GRAJNJNY/CHILD MINDER

I am mid 50's and work part time and would welcome some occasional Granny sitting or child minding (I cant drive) so you can have a day off or an evening out, I have done it before and can supply references, I enjoy a sing song and chatting and have found older people like me around for a day or an evening. I can cook light meals also.

Retired Irish and West Indian interviewees...

I am a researcher at King's College London and London's Transport Museum. I am currently interviewing Irish and West Indian newcomers to London in the 1950s and 1960s. Do you know anyone who may be interested in being interviewed?
The interviews will be used to form part of an exhibition at the museum as well as being posited in the sound archives. Please email  Mail-me  or phone 07989 138 222 for more information.

Retired Retirement is... ?

I have recently taken early retirement at 57 and it feels really weird. I'm doing better recently but basically I feel disorentated and am aware that, underneath it all, I must be missing the stimulus of my work and the structure. Yes I know... all the advantages... and I am enjoying it, just not as much as I think I should. I'm pretty busy with family and some travel, with more planned, but, there is still a bit of a but, which I need to settle. Does anyone have a similar experience? Any advice.  Mail-me

Retired Looking for something special?

I am really looking for that special person who is retired but would like to be part of a business where your skills, knowledge and experience will be appreciated and rewarded, without the hassle of being "employed".

I own a college and am looking for someone with a background in growing a small educational business into something substantial.

Retired MINI SAUSAGE DOG SEEKS FRIENDS!

ARE YOU:

* Someone with a dog-friendly dog who would like another dog for company?

AND/OR

* Someone retired and misses companionship from an animal but can't take on the full responsibilities of owning one?

Are you living in Southfields or anywhere along the DISTRICT LINE (Wimbledon-Notting Hill) or CENTRAL LINE (Notting Hill-Shepherd's Bush)?

The idea is that rather than being at home alone all day, the two dogs or person+dog can keep one another company when owners at work. Hiring a dog-sitter to pop in for an hour is too short but this is a great alternative with benefits for both parties.

I have a young Miniature Dachshund who loves company - human and animals alike. What do you think?

If you're interested, then† Mail-me †and tell me why. Highly trustworthy, dog loving people only. Don't forget to leave your email/contact number!

Thanks and a very Happy New Year :)

Hi My Mini Dachs is adorable - I wont put him into kennels and would rather he stay with a nice family while I visit my son who lives abroad - perhaps my lovely dog could stay with a family that already has a freindly Dachshund who would love the company of another dog? I live in South East London

Retired re Suggest a new Forum

Posted by Liz on 20th September

What about a Forum for retired people? I'm over 60 myself and when I recommend 'My Wimbledon' to friends of the same age they tend to check it out but then dismiss it as they feel that it's of interest mainly to younger people.

Retired

Yeah I thought that too until two weeks ago. In fact that isn't right and I now know that the site is visited by people of a wide range of ages, and this what I always wanted MoveThat.com to be: the site started with MoveFlat.com which is for rented accommodation.

I never intended MoveThat.com to be exclusively young, and it isn't: younger people have a much greater propensity to post on the site. I think people that do not regard themselves as 'young' see it as their role (inappropriately) to observe rather than engage, but the audience of this site is of a very broad age range.

My reservation about having a 'Retired' forum is that it is too broad and too excluding at the same time. But I am frequently wrong and I'm going to do it, so thank you.

Retired Making New Friends

Hi,

I am retired from the health service, live in Dulwich, in my 50's, grown up children, friends slowly moving out of London to the country or abroad. Looking to meet some interesting people for great conversation, sharing life experiences and interests and some fun times.

I enjoy the theatre, cinema, dining out, dining in, visiting places around England, shopping, art galleries and have just decided to join a fitness centre so hopefully I will enjoy that also.

Marsha
