Poetry Live Poetry Night

Hi,

Theres a poetry cafe in covent garden that I have been trying to drag friends to but to no avail! They have live poetry nights throughtout the week and I'd quite like to go. I'm a 25 year old female who occasioanally writes the odd line herself so always looking for inspiration etc. Poetry aside, I love music, art, books, film, travelling, plays - anything creative really.

Anyway if your similar sort of age and would like to check out the poetry cafe sometime - or know of any other nights yourself - get in touch with a bit about yourself and we'll take it from there! My email is  Mail-me

Thanks

Jo

Poetry Dradvax Poem

Oh Dradvax, come hither!!!
Thine verdant paths doth quiver!!!
In doltant rhyme thy crimson heart quaffs merrily,
And in the residue of light sighs heavily.

Sing, sing, sing again. Sing in vain.
In troubled waters despatch thine pain.
Call wanderer in nonsuch clammy haze
And drift along to meet their purpled gaze!

Salute thee now, on Dradvax, king.
Tomorrow's sorrows in lucid times will bring.
Onward the night calls sorrow's labours lost.
Ignore thee now? That speaks the mortal cost!

- thank you, I'd really appreciate some feed back.

Poetry Apologise me if I prefer it - Without title

Who, and I say who, has supposed death over life?
With all the blood of the soul on the floor scattered,
draged the hands like sky asking for pasion,
examinated by his own anger, hate, desolation.

Air on time, is a clock in the empty dessert,
rolling in a static world, with the steam of the cold wet,
and to feel the beating wind in a closed room.
Air being fill up of love with his spilled blood.

Breathed an extremly low, battered, enraged stink,
his veins are skin of soul without flavour,
looked at one point without clear shape, opened.
And left there his tired truth, forgoten, rotten.

Poetry Apologise me if I prefere it - Always to be

°To be, always to be!
Flowers are trims of life,
kisses which the wind to the ground
has done.

I want to be pollen given birth,
to dance in the air
impregnating until far away
valleys of love.

Poetry Poem by M. Daniel Treplev

Hi I am improving my English, and like exercise I like to translate poems, I would like to let here some if you like to read please. And If you have any advise or correction would be a great help. Regards

Running. Clouds of dust lost,
scream, odd vibrating in a gale.
Rain rolls but it is not assimilated,
°There is not ground so deep to love it!

Aloof, walk twisted thousand shrivelled leafs,
groan, they want can to forget. They do not know
that in every drop could cry their love.
Void, migrate like turned off any bird,
in their faint colour was reflected a dirty true,
everything brown, blurred, entwined
to ambiguous red, sweaty grey.
There is no more...
just sad time that does not know to walk.

MY CASTLE

Feel physically sick, get in a state,
With the sound of the knife scrapping the plate,
Is it the anTI anticipation still stuck in my throat?
Grant me a castle with a big deep moat, neír comes neír comes
Iíll pull up my drawbridge, not don my armoured coat,
An you can go paddle round an round in your boat.

Have just read recently released 46 Poems by Dale Quentin, found them quite amusing, interesting, and in many cases true to everyday life, certainly recommend well worth reading, and remembering, and forwarding poems onto friends, certainly a different style, look forward to more publications.

Poetry The poem below is not as good as the poem I am commenting on

"Sunday"

The black dreams run under
My feet
As I drive over streets
Stained by my wishes and hopes
Do they now belong
To someone else
A pregnant mother
Two boys who know the score
Or did I just just create them
Just like those dreams
So long ago

Poetry god is love

I love getting to know you
Is like getting to know God
Through the love you inspire, I feel
Quietly growing in strength inside, is real
& Now that I know love
I know that God is Love too
For it was He who guided you to me
& I am able to know Him
Through your company

Poetry Xmas

Tribal revenge under paper hats,
Too much food that never has
Been required for any meal
Let alone one with the usual spats

An annual battle, with memories to take home.
Hatreds to be revived and remembered.
Hurts to be re-opened and poked into stinging,
To distract from the imminent dying.

But some chink in grey concrete inexplicably,
Giggling with brother-in-law inextricably
At his mother, for the first time
And at my wife, for the last time

Poetry For love not money

you and your brash cash
flashing your gold plastic at me
do you think i would stoop to be
conquered thus
carelessly imbibed for your gratification
some cheap scew top soon to be
cast aside for a richer vintage?

No- pride guides the blind and I
would never fall for you.
