Eating Out Brilliant restaurant called Mazza

I just tried this new Indian restaurant called Mazza - opened up in Putney Hill, South West London. Best meal I have had for ages and what a cool place as well. Do try it! They also give all profit from alcoholic drinks to charity!

Eating Out Suggestions welcome!

Hello there, does anyone know of any cheap-ish restaurants in central London that are nice and dimly-lit with candles? So many restaurants I find are too bright and lacking in atmosphere! Hope this doesn't sound odd, but I'd just like to find somewhere cosy and intimate!

Any sort of food really - more interested in the
ambience!

Eating Out Victoria Coach Station

You can get sandwiches and snacks in the Departure area of the Coach Station itself. There is also a Fish-and-Chip shop on Elizabeth Street just outside the Coach Station.

Alternatively, you may wish to put your bags in Left Luggage and walk down to Victoria Rail Station (about 5-10 minutes) where there are several places to eat.

Eating Out BRICK LANE RESTAURANTS

Going to Brick Lane for the first time, can anyone recommend a good authentic curry house - or are they all good?

Eating Out Brick Lane

Avoid the ones on Brick Lane itself with touts - the 10% discount compensates for the 10% higher menu prices. Try restaurants on the side streets.
The Nazrul restaurants aren't bad (there are 2 or 3 in the area) for the more traditional curry and Cafe Naz is lovely and a bit more modern.

Eating Out Its all about the tout!

Just for the record don't ignore the touts - that's what Brick Lane is all about - chat with the restaurant owners/waiters - see what they're offering you and bargain with them - its part of the whole experience - the smarter ones are very nice but they are overpriced and its the kind of experience you can get anywhere - Oh and make sure you go somewhere you can take your own beer and get a discount at the off-licence!

Eating Out Brick Lane Indian Restaurants?

I am a fan of eating out and particularly Indian Restaurants. I also like street markets and sometimes go to Brick Lane and particularly on the Festival day in the summer.

I have eaten at about seven of the restaurants along there on a Sunday lunchtime and I have to say that they are all so averagely poor that there is none of them that I would recommend. Not only is the food pretty aweful but the attitude of the staff is mostly as if they are doing you a favour letting you eat from their £6.99 set meal menu.

Try searching for my name and reviews and you will see that there are some good places which are NOT in Brick Lane.

Eating Out Visiting London

Eating Out French restaurant near Finsbury Park?

Bistro Aix on Tottenham Lane, Crouch End (3-4 minutes walk from Crouch End Broadway, bus W7 from Finsbury Park). Not cheap but very authentic. There is a £15 dinner menu of 3 courses, but choice is limited. A la carte is a bit pricey but excellent for a special occasion.

Le Bistro, Hornsey High Street, not far from stop for bus W3 from Finsbury Park. Less expensive than Aix and well worth a visit.

Eating Out The Cauldron or Cads Bar

If you go along Norfolk Place (the one with the Fountains Abbey on the corner), there is the Cauldron on the left hand side which is pretty good, and further along on the right, down some stairs is a little bar called Cads which does a HUGE morning fry...Its like a hotel bar, and dark and weird - mega cheap beer though!

Eating Out Ha Noi - Westminster Bridge Road

I live very close to this restaurant and have often wanted to see what it was like. Yesterday I finally got around to giving it a go. The decoration isn't the cosiest and it's on a main road, so the scenery outside isn't the most picturesque, but the waitress was lovely and very patient considering how very fussy my friend and I both are. We are both vegetarian, and as you may know Vietnamese cuisine tends to feature meat or fish in a big way. However, the dishes we tried were absolutely gorgeous - the veggie spring rolls had a crispy, light batter and flavorsome filling, the vegetable and bean curd soup was delicate but warming, and the quick fried aubergines with cashews and chilis were just to die for, which greatly surprised me as I'm not usually a great fan of aubergine. Instead of a rice or noodle dish, we decided to go for another main dish and settled on the deep fried tofu with onions and chillis which was perfectly crispy and infused with a robust spcy, tangy flavour. Eating Out Pucci looked like its still going to me

My mate claimed it was closed so we couldnt go for dinner. It looked pretty open to me, people inside having dinner... never eaten there myself, it looked quite small from the bus, was definitely still open and was just down the Kings Road (westwards) from Henry J Beans.

This restaurant was excellent and used to be next to Henry J Beans on Kings Road but i am 99% sure it has now closed down. It was so much fun as I used to go from the age of 16 for many of my birthdays. It was opposite the Fire Station.
